Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good productivity requirement for a therapist?

There is no single right number. What matters is what it means for your hours: a target of 25 completed sessions a week with 15 minutes of notes each and a 10% no-show rate needs about 28 booked sessions and roughly 30 hours a week before meetings. Put the numbers in and compare.

Is per-session pay or a salary better?

It depends on how many sessions happen and whether no-shows are paid. Per-session pay rewards a full caseload but drops when clients cancel; a salary is steadier but its hourly value falls as the productivity target rises. The calculator shows both as pay per hour worked.

Why count notes time?

Notes, treatment plans and messages take time that per-session pay does not cover. Fifteen minutes per session across 25 sessions is over six hours a week.
